Welcome to my "Married Bio"

Honeymoon on Mexico's Riviera Maya

We spent seven sun-filled days and eight nights on Mexico's beautiful Riviera Maya.  Our all-inclusive resort, Karisma's El Dorado Seaside Suites, was fantastic in every sense.  The staff was friendly and accommodating, the grounds were beautifully kept, and the food was delicious.  We sampled all five of the restaurants and ate like it was our job (we were never truly hungry on this trip, and the scale proved it when we got home)!  Though we didn't love the Italian restaurant, all of the others were top-notch (our favorite dinners were at the the Latin Fusion restaurant, Vida Garden Grill, and the Asian Fusion restaurant, Klay Talay).  The World Cup was going on, so it was fun to enjoy the action with the many international guests as well as the Mexican nationals on staff.

We spent one day exploring the ruins at Coba and enjoying the beautiful public beach at Tulum, and another morning enjoying the commercial strip in Playa del Carmen.  Other than that, we really enjoyed swim-up suite we upgraded to at the resort (a very reasonable $40/night, and WELL worth it).  Let's be serious: we were able to walk out our door onto the patio, drop into the tanning shelf of the pool right outside the door, then roll off our lounge chairs, float down the lazy river to the pool bar to refill our delicious frozen drinks, then float back to our door-- how could you go wrong with that?  If you didn't see us on our patio or in our building's pool, you might have found us on a swinging beach bed, playing water volleyball, or hanging at the Guacamayas beach bar.  We also enjoyed a couple's massage on the beach in the evening (awesome), rocked some karaoke, and went to bed by 9:30 almost every night--because we were tired-- like the old, married couple we are!
